Doosan, Shirakawa Yoki City, Shirakawa Yoki City 143 km

Eric Yokishi, 34, a left-handed pitcher looking to make a comeback in South Korea's professional baseball league, hit a top speed of 143 mph during a tryout for the Doosan Bears.

"Today, Yokishi threw his second live pitch at Icheon Bears Park," a Doosan official said, adding, "He threw 45 pitches. His fastball reached a maximum velocity of 143 kilometers per hour."

Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop, who met with Yokishi at Jamsil Stadium, said, "Yokishi is the type of pitcher who competes with his pitches, not his fastball," adding, "I think his fastball has improved to some extent."

Yokishi first tried out for Doosan on March 30, throwing 45 pitches.

Doosan's foreign pitcher Brandon Waddell is out after being diagnosed with a partial left subscapularis muscle injury.

Although Brandon's condition is improving, 바카라사이트 추천 Doosan has determined that he will not be able to pitch for the first team for more than six weeks, so the team is working on signing a "short-term replacement foreign player.

This year, the Korean Professional Baseball Organization introduced a new system whereby if an existing foreign player is injured enough to require medical treatment for more than six weeks, the team can place the player on the disabled list and use a substitute foreign player until the player returns.

Yokishi, who does not currently have a team, was invited to try out by Doosan and arrived in the country last month and had two tryouts.

Yokishi played for the Kiwoom Heroes for five seasons from 2019-2023, going 56-36 with a 2.85 ERA.

After suffering a torn left thigh muscle in June of last year, Yokishi left the Korean scene to train privately and keep tabs on KBO clubs.

Coincidentally, the contract of Keisho Shirakawa, whom SSG Landers had signed as a short-term foreign player, was expiring, allowing Doosan to weigh Yokishi and Shirakawa.
